Position Overview:

Jarrod Smart Construction, Co. is a growing design-build firm specializing in delivering integrated design and construction services. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Designer to join our team in designing exceptional homes and commercial spaces. As an Architectural Designer you will play a key role in turning concepts into clear, precise, and accurate construction drawings. Your work will be essential to ensuring our projects run smoothly and meet client specifications. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop accurate, clear, and comprehensive architectural and construction drawings unique to our clients’ needs and wants while ensuring compliance with local building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards to ensure compliance and safety.

  2. Collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique preferences, lifestyle, and functional requirements, translating them into captivating design concepts.

  3. Collaborate with the project team, including engineers, project managers, and other designers to refine and update drawings as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.

  4. Oversee client communication throughout the design process.

  5. Develop and present design proposals that reflect a deep understanding of your clients' needs, ensuring alignment with budgets and timelines.

  6. Create detailed architectural plans, elevations, and 3D visualizations to effectively communicate design intent.

  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in residential and commercial design, infusing your projects with fresh ideas and approaches.

  8. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, and interior designers, to ensure the seamless execution of projects.

  9. Prepare for and conduct meetings in a timely and efficient manner.

  10. Engage in client presentations and design reviews, incorporating feedback to refine and enhance design concepts.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a related field, or technical degree in a related field with minimum of 5 years of experience.

  2. Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, and Microsoft Suites.

  3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and visual, enabling you to effectively convey complex design ideas to clients and team members.

  4. Strong technical and analytical skills enabling implementation of complex construction methods.

  5. An advanced understanding of building systems and construction practices.

  6. Keen eye for residential aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.

  7. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a team of designers, engineers, and project management staff.
